The tagline of "Crazy Rich Asians" meets "Bridget Jones's Diary" perfectly captures the essence of this book. I picked it up on a whim and I couldn't put it down...Lauren Ho writes with humor and heart; I finished this in one sitting and found myself going back to re-read some of the more funny and touching parts!
Teresa, Goodreads, ARC from Penguin
This book was so much fun! I received an ARC from work and was only intending to flip through a couple of pages, just to get a feel of the writing style and the general plot, but Lauren Ho had me laughing to myself within the first chapter and I knew I had to continue reading... Our protagonist Andrea, is smart, hilarious and extremely relatable....I really liked Lauren Ho's writing style. It's very fluid and she is able to switch easily between the funny moments and the serious parts...It was fun and entertaining but it also had an important underlying message. I can't wait for this to be out in the world, and I'm really looking forward to what this author writes next! (Please, please let it be a sequel!)
